Creating a vibrant brand for North London’s newest Ghanaian restaurant.

Case study.
Bedidi is an exciting new restaurant giving North London a taste of authentic Ghanaian cuisine, serving everything from family favourites to the world famous jollof rice.

Motivated by a love for good West African food, we were tasked with creating a contemporary and charismatic brand for a restaurant that aimed to become the home for all who wish to experience real Ghanaian food, reminiscent of the meals only your favourite auntie could make or the tales you may of heard from friends and family about the many local mouthwatering dishes.

Inspired by nostalgia, cultural nuances, and a desire to express a sense of vibrancy, our approach to successfully delivering this project evolved through the strategy and creation of the brand identity. Eager to pay homage to Ghanaian culture and traditions past, we created a custom typographic motif for the restaurant, which when viewed vertically resembles a sculpted West African mask. Whilst our visual execution expressed our tribute to culture, verbally, we employed an unceremonious tone of  voice designed to echo the free-flowing conversations we all love and enjoy whilst tucking into our favourite dishes.
